JoyBreedlove.com – Joy and her mission.2 min read

My wife and I met Joy at church not too long ago. She has been led into full time missions and will soon be moving to Uganda! It is insane to think about leaving behind all you know and love about the US, your family, your friends, your home – to serve the Lord in a distant third world country. The reward and joy of being called by the Lord to serve in such a big way must be a humongous honor, but must also be very frightening. After talking so much to Joy I know that her heart for the Ugandans (I guess that is what you would call them?) is much larger than her anxieties of leaving behind all she knows.

In Mark 16:15 Jesus tells us “…..Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” and Joy has really put the rubber to the road. Her mission is about more than just sharing the love of Jesus though. She will be helping to get orphans fed and “learned” through schooling ;-). They are also working on a long term plan for a very large orphan centered “community” that will provide a place for orphans and widows to live, learn, and work to be self sustaining through growing their own crops and raising their own livestock. It really is an amazing thing they are doing and I feel blessed to know Joy and be a part of what she is doing.

Our church is planning a short term mission trip in July to the area Joy will be living and I am exited about the chance to go see her in action and help out! My wife and I have committed to support Joy in her mission through communication support, fund raising, prayer support, the maintenance of her blog, and anything else she may need help with. If you have a heart for missions or helping the (MUCH) less fortunate in this region of the world please contact me for opportunities to assist in this much needed mission.

Did I mention she is MOVING THERE?? Good Grief, God bless her.

More to come. Stay tuned here and at JoyBreedlove.com

We were blessed to have Joy come to our home and share her testimony, calling and plans for the Mission with our connect group from Hebron Church.
Thank you for doing this blog so we can keep up with her and share with others what she is doing…this will help us be more involved with her work for our Lord.

  2. Joy is a sweet sweet lady with a heart for the Lord. It is nothing less than a blessing to be able to serve her and the Lord through her and her mission!

  3. Joy, as a grandmother, I can fully sense the emotions you must be feeling. Probably the hardest part of following God’s plan for your life is your absence from your family.

I am in awe of your dedication and commitment to the task for which God has called you, and wish you Godspeed in all you do. Our class will continue to hold you up in prayer, love and support. We love you!
